Pricing for PCN dossiers and UFI codes
Three fixed prices cover the work we do most often: a new dossier, an extra point of sale for a product already notified, and an update to a dossier already on file. You get a number before we start, not an estimate that moves once the work is underway.

€550 is a single, fixed fee for the full first submission, not a starting quote — it does not grow because a mixture carries three hazard classes instead of one, or because two member states rather than one need the dossier. What changes the price is the number of substances in the mixture, and whether the work is a new dossier, an added point of sale or an update to something that already exists. Which price applies
The three prices map onto three different situations, and most enquiries fall cleanly into one of them:
- The product has never been notified. That is a new PCN dossier and a new UFI — €550.
- The product already has a dossier, and you are adding a market or a retail channel under the same formulation. That is usually an additional point of sale — €150 — not a new dossier, because the composition has not changed.
- The product already has a dossier, and something about it has changed — the trade name, the composition within its declared ranges, the classification. That is a dossier update — €200.
The one case that is not automatically an update is a composition change big enough to move a component outside its declared range: that can require a new UFI rather than an update to the existing one. What is not included
Three things sit outside the fixed prices above, and we quote each one case by case rather than folding it into a flat number that would be wrong for most mixtures:
- Mixtures with more than five substances. The €550 price assumes up to five substances in the composition; a mixture with more components gets a separate quote once we have seen the full formulation.
- Missing toxicological data. If the information a dossier needs is not already in your safety data sheet or supplier documentation and has to be sourced, that work is quoted separately from dossier preparation. See toxicological information required in a PCN for what the dossier expects.
- Member state national fees. Some appointed bodies charge their own fee for receiving a notification, on top of our fee for preparing it. These fees are set and collected by the member state, not by us — see member state differences for which countries charge one.
